A 15-year-old basketball phenom has orally agreed to attend DePaul University on a scholarship. Starting in 2009. The Chicago Tribune has the details, including this gem:
Under NCAA rules, [Depaul Coach Jerry] Wainwright can't comment about the commitment until Cully signs his letter-of-intent, which can't take place until November 2008.
There are no NCAA rules (yet!) about offering scholarships, nor are there rules about accepting them, at any age, but there are rules on when the coach can comment on it.

Cully Payne is a 5'11" point guard, so size isn't an issue, and he's dominated his middle-school peers at national competitions, but still, the kid hasn't even played a minute of high school basketball!
