Jay Leno has been subpoenaed to appear as a witness in the Michael Jackson trial, and NBC is now submitting a request asking that he doesn't have to abide by a gag order that keeps participants from talking publicly about the trial. Not that Leno is very funny at all, but the trial is (over)ripe for humor and not being able to talk about it would certainly cramp Leno's ability to attract viewers (who should be watching Letterman anyway).
