Jayson Stark has five reasons why the Yankees (possibly, maybe) won't win the World Series next year. We can only hope. Oh, and the Yankee payroll for next season is at $207 million. Unbelievable. Can't we fold the team for a year and give that money to tsunami relief or something?
It's also possible that Steinbrenner is deficit-spending his way to a championship. Some of the Yankees finances don't appear to add up.
