So did hip-hop, station consolidation, Spanish, and satellite radio. Rock and Roll isn't dead on the radio, and it may never die (which should please Neil Young), but it sure is withering on the vine. Many cities are now able to support just one rock station. This resembles one of my favorite "what if" questions: What happens to "Oldies" radio when the Baby Boomers die? William
